Full program description

Building Blocks of Play Therapy is a comprehensive program that brings together three foundational courses designed to build knowledge and confidence in play therapy practice. Beginning with an understanding of child development and the role of the play therapist, learners then explore the therapeutic powers of play, including the four core mechanisms of change and the 20 core agents that support growth and healing. The program also examines key theoretical foundations, with a focus on the work of Rogers and Axline, grounding learners in child-centered approaches. In the final course, participants learn to recognize and interpret common themes in children’s play and effectively communicate these insights with caregivers. Together, these courses provide a cohesive learning experience that connects theory, development, and practical application. By the end of the program, learners will have a strong, integrated foundation to support their work with children and families through play therapy.

Each of the three courses are also offered individually.
