Full course description
Foundations of Play Therapy offers an in-depth look at how developmental stages shape a child’s ability to express thoughts, emotions, and experiences through play. Learners will explore core concepts of child development and how these inform effective, developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions. The course also examines the unique role of the play therapist as a facilitator of growth, safety, and emotional understanding within the therapeutic relationship. Through this lens, participants will gain insight into how play becomes a powerful medium for communication and healing. By the end, learners will have a solid foundation for understanding both the “why” and “how” behind play therapy practice.
This course is also offered in the Building Blocks of Play Therapy bundle.
